Spend some time at a track. See which teams load them onto trailers early and which ones last the day. Then compare that with the cost to make each car what it was at the start of the day, and look at repair bills after some laps.

That's why you see so many Porsches at the track. Audis fair pretty well too. I've been seeing more and more Mazda RX-8s at sports car races too (awesome cars, btw).

I agree. A lot of those super cars look good, make great power on paper or dynos but you can't drive them hard or things break. I'll take my car on a track over something like that anyday - and keep the extra million in my bank.

The Mercedes McLaren SLR actually holds up very well from what I've seen. Top Gear drove it from London, England to Oslo, Norway and didn't have a single problem with it. Jeremy Clarkson actually slept in it too!!!

i know right? just give me the 100K or million dollars i could of spend on a super car and i'll spend on a car to make it nicer and faster.

That's because there's a difference between "Vehicles I love that are realistic" and "Dream cars" for most people. There are alot of really nice cars and trucks in the "Vehicles I love that are realistic" catagory that retail for 40k and under. Some retail for 10k, but are downright one of the most awesome vehicles ever made. But they're reachable, not a "dream".
