Ok Im back! My REAL first post was at 6:01 pm and on January 30, 2007.

It said...

"Hi, Im new here. I have 2 fish tanks. A 30, and a 75. Ive had the 30 running about 6 months and its doing great. I just bought the 75 gallon tank about a week ago. My dad has a 250 g salt tank, and has someone maintain it. He told me that if I want to cycle my tank, I should put a bunch of feeders in there and heavily feed them 3 times a day.. Is this true? I didnt do this to the 30. The fish in there are about 20 rosy reds (feeders) and 2 sengal birchers. The parameters are
Amonia: .5 ppm
Nitrite: 4 ppm
Nitrate: about 180

Is this normal? And if its not please tell me what to do. I have an Eheim 2215 filter.
"

Oh my god I really was a newbie!

   but even as a noob, at least ya knew about water params.

I don't know what my first post was it seems that I can only go back 1000 posts. It probably wasn't that bad as I wasn't a noob to fish keeping and I actually veiwed MFK alot(2-3 months) before I even posted. I guess i was kind of a chicken:confused:

Anyhow let me tell ya about my 2nd thread I started. I did some research and worked out this great formula(so I though) for Silver aros to tank size ratio. Well I was really proud of my work and I posted it. Within minutes it was shot down by Delgado:ROFL: Boy did I feel like such a Noob.

im not sure if this is the right place to write this.

im 15 yrs old, so i dont have alot of money to spend on suplies, and stuff. but, i love to fish, and during the summer, (catfish season) the DFG always plants small channel catfish (6-10") in the local ponds to start off the season. and when i catch them i usually let 'em go 'cause their too small to eat. so what would i need to keep one in a tank. i was hoping maybe someone could tell me how to build a custom tank, or were i could find a big tank really cheap. what substrate should i use? (ive always wanted a fine sand substrate but everytime i got some it got sucked up in my filter(in my oscar tank)) and what kind of filtration could i get away with?

just to let you kno, i netted one about 3 inches onetime and put it in my oscar tank and it grew to 12 inches within 9 months, and i let it go in a pond at a retirement home next to my school. but i really want tooo keep one for along time and grow it to its max size, (aquariume size)

Im building a 1350 plywood and have a 1180 pond plus a few smaller tanks.

still no channels (although i had one in my pond)

i found a kinda noobie dovii thread from a bit back

"i just got a dovii about 3-4 inches and i'm going to put it into a 100 gallon with 2 convicts and if it gets to aggressive i will take the convicts out. Any suggestions on how to decorate the tank or wht to feed them"

I can't even go back far enough to see my first post as a mod, let alone my first post on MFK... I'm sure it was in the pleco section though. My first thread was about my first L200 getting killed.
