An island somewhere......
I wanted to start a picture thread dedicated to UMBEE KING's highly anticipated "GORILLUS"! These are 1.5"-2" growouts, the larger 3" Black Umbees were hard to photograph as they were in the back of the tank. I currently am housing 10 in a 270 gallon tank (72"x36"x24"). A bit overkill on the tank size but I wanted ample room for growth and for each to have their own territory for the time being.... hopefully a pair will form and this will be their permanent home.

As per UMBEE KING:

BLACK 'SAN RAFAEL' (GORILLUS)
Classification: Caquetaia Umbriferus
Color variant: Black
Trade Names: Gorillus, Black Umbee, The Red Freckled Monster, Gorilla Umbee

Congrats on the young Gorillus! I didn't know Umbeeking had sold fry of this variant yet. I guess I missed that memo. Good luck with the little beasts. I hope more members post pictures to add to your thread.

I've been burnt out on growing out fish but these have gotten me revamped! I can't stop staring at them in my tank..... The RED EYES are probably the best part next to the body spangling! Reminds me of the red eyes on Beani's.

Great Thread House, Lets show off these little Apes. Excellent photos of them as well. You can see they have a grey tone to them with black bars and spangled up already. Cant forget about those red eyes, very different! cant wait to see how they develop, so far so great. Here's a picture of one of my fat belly keepers. Ill get some better shots of them this weekend in there tank. Gorillus on the Rise!
