I got some from both pairs and I am most impressed with the blues as well. They exhibit a lot more red freckles and mine are also darker and show more spangles than the king kong line. Both are amazing though and a lot can change as they develop:)

Yes good deal:) i knew chris told me that a couple people have gotten the gorilla blue strain too:) I dont have enought room for all these umbees otherwise id have gotten the black too. and yes everthing is up to theory as of now with growing these out. This is the fun part for me, watching them grow and documenting progress for the history books!!

Thank you, your still in luck. i hear he still has some and if you call now, you might get some good deals. word is that he isnt planning on growing anymore spawns out for awhile so now is the time to get the f1's otherwise hang out for f2's like most of the cheap ass's are doing LOL!!!

I've got 7 from gorilla blue and 9 from king kong and the gorilla blues are outgrowing the king kong fry like crazy. My biggest gorilla blue is around 4".
 
I know right lol these things are on steroids!!! I'm gonna have to fast mine a couple days a week;) prime is 5"+ now
 
I try to keep massivore to a minimum as with my experience with most cichlids especially umbees is they tend to get picky and tend to turn down other foods as they get order.
 
I have 7 blacks. Got them .75-1" in the middle of June. The biggest three are 2-2.5". They are on Xtreme and NLS. 60% water changes twice a week.

To me, they are growing like weeds.

Here is a video of them. The big kraussi you see is 4.5".
