Yeah he's a nice fish for sure. He's also on light colored sand and he's jet black. my other ones have darker natural gravel and stay lighter colored.
Here's my biggest from Gorilla Blue, Shame about his tail though!
Wow! This guy is brilliant.. IF you look closely around the nostril region you can see his red freckles coming in. Very nice... He is a Gorillus blue variant. C
It's been a while since I've posted to this thread.... I decided to snap some photo to update on the progress of my GORILLUS! It's a big (wide) tank so it's harder to snap photo's since the larger ones tend to hang out in the rear of the tank. Largest is nearing, if not at 6" now.
It's not as evident but the red freckles are coming thru! On the snout, the forehead and some on the gill plate. These things are an absolute joy to watch grow!
House 64, your Gorillus are looking amazing. What I'm observing out of the two populations is that the Gorillus Blue Juvie's are showing the red freckles around the nostril and on the forehead region at around 5 1/2 to 6 inches. The males from this population also start to show streaks of blue on the face. As for the second population the Gorillus Black, San Rafael, are displaying strong reds on the breast region but no freckles on the face. Very interesting.... Im having a blast as well growing these things out STRAIGHT UP BEAST!!!!!
