Thanks chris they did come from an awesome pair after all. From my experience so far with the black strain the male will display a more dominant black color while the female will display a much more light golden color and the male keeps his horizontal stripe while the female displays the single dot,here is another pic of the female I know its not the best quality I will try to get better pics with my good camera this weekend.

When are you gonna post some of your's up LOL.but at first I also wasnt sure with the consistency as well because the profile of them at 2-3" wasnt really all there but when male established himself as king of the tank thats when he turned,then I noticed today these two started to display signs of breeding shaking heads,digging,chase the other fish off if they got to close to their established territory etc... but then again this is just based off my experience so far and my opinion I would like to hear other peoples input on how their's are coming along on this new and amazing strain.

Very nice brother! those guys are growing very fast and you can see the reds coming in on them as well. How are they doing with the other Caquetaia's in the aquarium? Here is a picture of my largest San Rafael. He is about 7inches solid and is a pure beast! This guy was sleeping when I snapped these pics. His eyes are dimmed and not reddish orange like they usually are when he is awake. More pics of this guy coming soon
