Also purebreed is not a good term to label German reds. They are a line strain. Not a hybrid, but I am sure many today are, and not a natural occurring fish.

Here is what you get if you breed a OB peacock female (red and white with black blotches) with a Auloncara Stuartgranti male. I like them very much. THey are extremely colorful (white, orange, black and blue) and they act like a typical peacock. I have 4 of them. Hope you will excuse the messy glass condions

Edit: after viewing these pictures i will try to retake some new ones, these just dont do the fish justice. They are actually quite beautiful but unfortunetly my photo skills leave alot to be desired LOL.
