The scientific community has not officially described them as separate species. Due to their differences. They were given their 'Koliba' and 'Koloton' names from suppliers, dealers, and then supported by us. This also applies 'Faranah' and 'Guinean' laps. The list goes on for Endlicheri too, i.e. 'Dabola', 'Faranah' , 'Nigerian', 'Black & White Volta'. To sum it up, they're all collection areas and rivers.

Ponder this fellas/gals. Why do ornate, senegal, Teugelsi, nigerian lap, or all the upper jaws species don't have the collection tag. 2 reasons. They look the same and heavily farmed. Therefore, the demand for our hobby wasn't there.

So, what are your opinions? Agree, disagree, or just not sure. This is a great topic in where it's not discussed due to many uncertainties.

Everyone lets further this discussion amd not derail dmds thread. Everyone post there lap, koliba, koloton and pbb pics.

Lets not comment until we get a bunch of pics in.

Lets try and not post any comments just pics that way it will be easier to look through the thread and compare. As many pics as we can get theore the merrier... multiple of the same fish from different angles would be helpful too
