the pike is really chill so far. they are all still juvenile fish except the chocolate and the jurupari. the chocolate is more of a bully than a jerk. i actually did notice my jurupari picking on one of my smaller psittacus last night but nothing serious. if im going to see any aggression from any fish im assuming it would be the psittacus and would prolly be in the next month or so since they are getting larger. im hoping the pike stays this way. im thinking of adding another juvenile pike when my LFS gets fish next week.

Sounds nice, definately a combination i'm considering for a future 6' tank.

Cheers.

I have little problem between species of Eartheaters. My altifrons runs the larger tank. I used to keep a few female Orange Heads in there and they never showed any colour because of the dominance exerted by them. I have more issues with conspecific aggression, hence the need to remove my subdominant heckelii from the mix to reduce the number to 1 as he was getting pounded.

Eartheaters do much better in 3+ of each species, otherwise you need to find a mix that works - not sure about others but fin preservation is my ultimate concern when aggression pops up when keeping Eartheaters. Currently there is absolutely no issues in my tank, but the leucosticta are still quite small and we'll have to see when they're grown up and present a threat to the bigger species. If I wasn't so attached to my Heroines they'd be gone though, for more altifrons and heckelii.

In regards to hybridization, I've never read of anyone having issues with it, but I'm sure it's happened somewhere at one stage.

Thanks, Altifrons are the best looking geophagines in my opinion.

Leah...

love your Sevs and the set up...

Along with every other set up on this thread...great thread!

Better watch out for aggression with the flagtails MrWhiskers. They tend to not get a long at all. Usually you can only keep on per tank due to aggression. I've heard of a few others that kept multiples together, but it most likely will not work long term. Maybe you'll get lucky and it will work, but be ready just incase it doesn't.
