Post Your Livebearers Here

I have used high altitude Mexican live bearers in my Gymnogeophagus tanks as dithers and they work well because they can handle temps below 50 with ease.

Xenatoca eiseni get large, male above, female below.

I also like Zoogenotecia(sp) tequila, but have never been able to get a decent shot

I will hopefully now be, able to get some of the Panamanian type soon, especially the sail fin mollies.
Poecilia velefera, have always been fascinating to me.

I'm picking up 8 lentigosum next week, trying to decide what livebearer to put with them.
Looking forward to another species of livebearer . They are a lot more interesting to keep than you may first suspect.

My lentiginosum did OK with the sailfins, although the current preferred by the rheophillic cichlids was a bit much for the mollies, and the mollies would occasionally get washed into the sump.
After a while I found wild type swordtails worked better, because they also prefer heavier water movement. They were also constantly dropping fry, which became snacks for the lents. The lents also were very fond of mosquito larvae

How many Lents did you keep together Duanes?
Did you find them aggressive?
I may try to locate some xiphophorus montezumea.I have always liked those.

Wish I could keep livebearers alive for more than a week. I've tried a few times with fancy guppies and I've never been successful keeping them alive. Otherwise I would love to throw some in with my synodontis petricola's.

I kept 8 lents together, with the same count of swordtails.
They were not at all aggressive, but I had a pumpage of around 800 gph, which I believe kept aggression down. I had wesselli and bulleri in the past, and I believe because the current wasn't strong enough at the time, it brought out aggression.
I tried the same type pump age with Astatherines which seemed to keep their aggression down.
Current looked like this for both tanks.
