I've had him for about a week now. Got him from a lady that had no idea how to take care of him (she was only supposed to be babysitting for 2 weeks, but the owner just vanished and hasn't been heard from in 3 years, so its not like she decided to get a fish she knew nothing about). Poor bugger has spent the last 3 years living in a 25 gal tank with no heater, eating goldfish flakes (not to mention the thick layer of uneaten food all over the bottom of the tank, which btw only got cleaned every 6 months). I'm truely AMAZED that he's still alive. I have no experience with large fish and new world cichlids. I have 4 great big breeding electric yellows, so its not like he's my first ever fish. I've been interested in jags for a bit, so i've done quite a bit of research on them, but its still comforting to know that he's really hard to kill!
