I used to have a little jag that I raised from 1". He hit 5" in less than 3 months cause I power fed him Tetra Cichlid bites and some feeders and shrimps and stuff. Did daily 50% water changes on the 10 gallon he was in. Sadly I was unable to keep him anymore cause my mom wouldn't let me get a bigger tank in that small apartment, so I sold him back to the lfs, but he was really vibrant in color.

Jags are a very popular CA cichlid, now about 20 yrs ago over here you would never see them, so my dad says.

he is a jag/texas hybrid..wow ..have anymore pictures?? never saw a mixed jag before..

yea, they are awsome. were localy breed. i heard the parents died. I have kept 2 of them. both wvery nice. This one was dosile other than with the bp. Both tex/jags were jumpers. I still have been wanting a nice jag. they are awsome.
