Hey all,
I wanna see some big Striped Raphaels, anyone have any? From what I've read is that they're slow growers. Mine has been around in my family for 20 years. He was purchased as a tiny juvenile and is now a fat-bellied brute of about 7.5 inches.

Anyone else have some big or old Raphaels? I really love these fish. I'll see if I can post a pic of him next time I feed. He looks like a swimming ball of spikes!

My current one is only 3-3.5" and a few years old. I had one that was 7 years and 5" before I got rid of him before I went away to school.

20 years, that awesome. Any pics.?

yeh i wanna see pics too

Ya...20 years is an old fella. Hope mine makes it 20 years. Ive got a striped raph almost 2 years old at 4'' and a spotted raph at 3.5'' and about a year and a half old. I was up at 4am and saw my raph cruising for the first time in months. Lets see the GIANt raph.

I have no Idea how old my costatus is, since it's a hand-me-down fella.
Got him from a friend who wanted to keep some ancistrus in his tank, but this fella kept eating them all the time. He now lives with my red-eared slider where he gladly ate the six bumblebee cichlids that he shared tank with. He's 7.1" now atleast.
Will take a pic of him if he's still awake :)

nice, i love doradids, them and pimelodus are my fav catfish. i have a neighbour who has a 6 or 8 inch raph in with some african cichlids, how it survives is unknown.
