I have one who is about 12" long. He's growing at an...alarming rate. I need to put him in a new tank soon.

The Shedd has some around 3' long.

Mine hides most of the day. At night, a few hours before I feed the fish, he starts looking around. He used to stay hidden until the second I turned off the lights.

I have mine with two silver dollars, neurotic fish I can't st and any more. I also have two dwarf puffers, two raphaels (a spotted and a striped) and my royal.

I'll have to take some pictures this weekend.
 
As promised, I took a couple pictures of him today while cleaning the tank. He's much more active these days than when I got him in Fall.

I do wonder if he'll ever realize he could swallow my puffers in one gulp. The puffers used to actually pick on him a little.

When I clean the tank, I take everything out, so the raphaels hide under him. As he swims around, they follow.

Right now he's in a 55, and unfortunately he's as long as the tank is wide. I'm working on building him a new home. I was going to get a standard 125, but those are still only 18" in one direction. I'll probably build a 4x2 tank to put him in for now.

Very cool fish...he's very docile and active.

I think he would outgrow that very quickly. Mine was 7-8 inches when I got him in fall, so he's grown at just under an inch a month.
