hey Totroc3 nice setup. the 3rd pic is sweet. that motoro has some large spots

Totroc3 I like the tank setup..... I had 5 large clown loaches in my tank until about 6 weeks ago. I loved them but.....they began nawing on the back flippers and back edge of my large females disk. I wish I could have kept them but they had to go!

i haft to agree with what ur saying, sometimes even if other keep a fish as a tank mate it might not work for u. an if u have a tank mate in with ur rays an all is great, in time things can change. there is def fish that are straight up no fish, def not keep with rays. but the ones that are ok to keep with rays i find they still need to be watched. even u found out that a breeding discus can me a threat. having rays has one done fall an thats is sometimes u might need to get rid of a tank mate. or do what i do and use it as another excuse to start another tank lol. even my pbass has to be watched carefully,. he may not bug the ray but he sure can make sure he gets all the food before they do lol.

Yeah I kept my loaches with my rays for almost 3 years with NO issues...then one day the male bit her for mating and it made a raw bite wound, the loaches just wouldn't leave it alone so it couldn't heal.

my pup tank has. 2f motoro, 1 male motoro. 5 clown loaches. pictus cat. ossa knife fish. and a climbing perch.
my other tank i have 2m hystrixs , 3 paroon sharks, 1 p bass. and 2 florida gar. i have found that keeping gar can be risky, they can nip during feeding, so i only keep them with much bigger rays and u gotta make sure there mouths are full before feeding the rays, or they go down there an try an steal the food. have seen some keep them together no problems but this is just my experience.
once my indoor pond is done i plan to move the biggest paroon shark in there with the male hystrixs an hopefully in the future a mature female hystrixs for them:naughty:

nice hystrix bro... now u gotta get a female and ship me some pups lol.. very nice tank setup/

6x3 6 Marbles, A Dorado, 2 very scared Tinfoils. Between the Dorado and rays I can't add anything but armored cats. Tried a fire eel and the rays just pestered the crap outta it. Will try again once the eels been eating steady. Tried adding a 1' RCK and Dorado wasn't having it. Moved Dorado to pond with big rays.... Fine for a week, went to Christmas outta town came home to a mauled Dorado.... It's recovering and will be fine.

4x3 2 Marble pups (5-6"). Tried adding a shoal of Tor (3") and 3 were picked off the 1st night. Had to divide. Will try again in a few inches. Had a foot long BGK in the 4x3 with the pups for close to a year... No issues. One day decided to start biting one of the rays. Tossed him in the 6x3 with the bigger rays (7-11") Only took 3 hours and the BGK was completely shredded de-jawed, de-tailed, de-lifed.

I've had rays take out Armatus, Scombs, Phaphs, Tats, CKs, BGKs, Tor, Tinfoils, Dorado, Pictus cats, Polys and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few. Had rays beat up by Fei Fengs and BGKs.

Only thing I had 100% success mixxing with rays with zero issues is Odoe. Well armored cats, but that's a given. Gars are close but have seen them nip rays here and there.
