This is my Red Monkey. Still learning about these guys. They are constantly changing color from a reddish color to a whiteish color. It's hard to maintain there bright reddish colors. If you guys know any tips other than keeping coral rock in the tank to maintain P.H. levels at 7.8, and keeping a high temperature at 86 degrees let me know. The fish is awesome and I love it, but very high maintenance.

Just give him time and he might go after your sev more.
I have a pair of rose queen and a few happy breed king kong and they do the same thing. They were all kinda fainted then they got red and with a hump then the hump faded and the color got pale except for one.

When the lights are off, color comes back and gets pale when lights are on. I noticed that after a water change, the get red again. I have not tested my water, but I think that ph got more neutral and nitrate, nitrite gone down with water change.

My guess is that your fish will lose some of his red because overseas have been feeding him color enhanced food. Beautiful fish, nonetheless. You got 2 of them, got picture of the other one?

No, I just have 1 Red Monkey. I am currently trying the light off thing right now for a week. I guess I should be doing 10% water changes rather than the 50% I've been doing, because he's very tempermental. I Have to give him time to adjust. Doing 50% water changes stress's him out I just found out. This guy requires alot of extra care and patience.
