Ok I rescued a bunch of fish today...

It did not start out as a rescue.. I seen an add in the local Classifieds... And found this ad. And it said five large Synspilus for free.. Also a couple severums all free..

I then emailed the seller.. After a series of replies to one another now a week later he was able to be home and We could meet.. His conditions were that If I were going to take any of the fish I needed to take them all... And that they are all healthy so no worries...\

Well I pack up the kids and MY beautiful wife And then two coolers and two buckets ... Only an hour and a half there.. And hour back.. Up hill one way down hll all the way home..

Well I was in for a surprise.. This guy was no joke!! Except for the health.... SO My free purchase as you are about to see turned into a major rescue!! And There was another tote he sent me home with I did not get pics as I was unprepaired supply wise to waste more time than I did..

All in all i picked up between 60-90 fish most of which were over 3 and 4 inches!!!

I said I would take them all and he held me to it.. Even the two that were dead before i got there.... Which didn't make me sad at all .. Just knowing that I picked all the poor neglected guys up...


WARNING WHAT you are about to see is NOT PRETTY!!! but givem a few weeks and they will look much better..

NOt the worst but still not pretty.. I'm sure later in the thread there will be some more gory....

Ya The Guy told me that the two dead ones were alive!! I said a no there not,... He said ya they are just stress and they lay on the bottom like that... I picked one up... It was dead... He still thought it was alive.. Well tried to make me believe that it was.. I wasn't mad.. I was actually kinda sad.. And not that I went for something different.. But that he was unable to care for them long enough for them to be in this condition..

It's a rare form of labeotropheus trewavasae. He's a show fish, one of the fish I'm most proud of And he was free!!!

Is this how you got the stoni too..my god good thing you took them all ..they will be gorgeous if they are okay..some look so stressed out but that is understandable... wow what a rescue find this could turn out to be.. please post more pics as they settle in and lots of luck to you with your kind heart i want everyone of them to make you smile ...you have your hands full...thats an incredible amount of fish.. the clown loach is huge... those africans are beauties..best of luck i pray they all make it for you!!
