Looks like you're going to need to do some fin surgery down the road.

Best of luck.

Ya I am hopin I don't have to do anything!! If I do then I may.. But healing to a point where I'll know is the first thing :D

Where's all the other rescues :D

I just rescued a buttikoferi today, what a coincidence! It is 7" and grew up in a 5 gal tank, and was moved to a 10g a couple months ago. Now its in my 20... Ill make some room for this beast :)

Anyway, heres an oscar I rescued from some moron who didnt want him anymore because he wouldnt fight his other fish. Hes bigger now, and a great fish!

Sorry for blurry photo

WEll that was definately a rescue for the better!! I mean I fight fish... But it is usually one that barely fits in my Cichlas mouths.. But at least it fits and is over quickly!!

This Big boy was a rescue from an LFS that was going out of business..he was in a small tank of dirty water..had HITH bad..and he was about 9 inches.. he is almost 12 inches now and only one spot left of HITH .. i don't know if we will ever cure him completly but we add medicines and he is thriving and happy..we have had him almost two years now..

2 1/2 years ago, my husband stumbled across this "mother of all yard sale finds"--a 55 gallon tank crammed with eight large fish.

One oscar died of HITH, and the plecos did not make it.

We have two pacu and two oscars in this tank, and the runt oscar is in the original 55 gallon tank.

While we did not have the pleasure of raising them from babyhood, our rescued fish give us much pleasure and add a different dimension to our lives.
