here's my perruno at 13 inches. now its bigger at almost 16 inches. how large do these guys get ? some places say 26-28 inches. is that correct ?

I must know cause gotta decide whether I can keep him for life or not. thanks.

Perrunichthys perruno is the only species of catfish of the monotypic genus Perrunichthys of the family Pimelodidae. This species reaches about 60cm(24") and originates from the Lake Maracaibo basin. This fish is occasionally known as the leopard catfish.

24" ??? woohoo then !! My 8x2x2 240 gal is ready and the cat's going in it. And I'm also making space in my new fish room for a 6x3x2 tobe made sometime next year. thanks !!!

I know how ya feel.
Found out today mine likes bloodworms, never tried it cause I got him at 5ish" and bloodworms seemed so small compared to him... but stuck some in there today for the cichlids I moved around and he gobbled them up. Not enough to fill his belly but at least it was something since he hasn't been eatting anything lately

I gotta tell you to try new staff,lass weekend I feed my red tail catfish with carrots and he seems to like them,in a wild they also eat lots of fruits that drop into a water,I was shock when I read it,day after I tried it out with some organic carrots and it worked =)

RTC will eat anything,just to fill their massive belies (they are oversized,they belies are like 3/4 of their body,some times my RTC looks like an balloon
I love it,best fish I ever had,at least most funny to watch on dining time
(will he eat three or five chickens ? hmm this is a question

My red tail catfish,fresh photos taken today,he is about 12-13" and about 4 months old now,enjoy =)

well he wasn't too happy when I have taken him on my hands but nothing happened to him,after 10secods he was swimming freely again and he seems to be very happy now

he is very active at night time and sometimes at day time as well but only when he is hungry.

him with a nice smile on =)
