Don't think one of these exists for auchenipterids; I apologize if I'm wrong.
Wanted to see everyone's woodcats and/or hear what species are being kept by members here!

I'll start off with some of the classic species:
Duringlanis perugiae (just one male left)

Centromochlus musaica (got a 2.1; no spawns yet)

And a bit more uncommon, Centromochlus sp. "Peru" (species sold as Centromochlus macracanthus)

I have some more, but no pics of them on me right now- will take some and post later.

We used to keep half a dozen species but now only have one gulper, 8yo, 10-12".

I'd heard of perugiae but never saw one or a pic of one; what an absolutely spectacular fish!

Here's some more:
Trachelyichthys exilis (with the C. sp. "Peru" in the D-cave below)


A different T. exilis, right after feeding.


Spinipterus moijiri- one of the more uncommon ones that took me a while to track down and find.
Actually had the opportunity to pick up a young mixed-sex group in 2020, but didn't take the offer, for some reason.

Centromochlus orca, juvenile; don't know how this picture was taken, for those blighters are fast when they want to be (which, to be fair, is nearly all the time they're not hiding).



Only have one woodcat not yet posted, a juvie Trachelyopterichthys taeniatus, that I'll have to dig out from wherever it is to get a picture.

They sure are pretty! Wish they'd do something during the day, though. All I see is a yellowish-white, spotted fish tucked away in some obscure corner; if I poke them (by accident, mind), they start buzzing and grunting for a couple seconds, but that's it. At night, they'd bumble around in a ridiculous manner, almost like a fast miniature blimp, until they run into something.

I assume you Canadians don't often run into smaller uncommon fishes; what do you guys have up there? Some top-secret natives kept secret from the rest of the world? Perhaps a new miniature line of "monster" fishes? Maybe even a new miniature ictalurid?

We have stores that have fish in them, and most are pretty much the same fish as anywhere else. Lots of banned species, varying from province to province, but that is a reality of life nowadays just about everywhere. I am an hour away from an outstanding importer/retailer who will usually locate just about any fish I am searching for...eventually...and the prices, when one factors in currency-conversion rates, are often better than U.S. prices I see advertised here and online. No collection of natives for aquarium use, which is one of my biggest regrets regarding my hobby currently.

Manitoba is definitely more about fishing than fish-keeping. Miniature Ictalurids? Lol, the focus here is definitely on Ictalurids, but they ain't miniature. We have probably the best Channel Cat fishery in the world. If you love to fish (I do)...and have a "thing" for catfish (I do)...and especially if you appreciate the simplicity and ease of casual shore-fishing (I do)...it's a great combination.

Lovely woodcats, them! One of the weirdest I've ever seen; the closest mimic to a block of wood I can probably name. How active were yours?

Not very active during the day. At night was a different story though
