Pot scrubbers alternative??

I use a good brand of scouring pads that don't break down/degrade easily. A couple I think have still been in constant use for about nearly eight months.

They're all the same stuff people buy the dollar store stuff for years

If you go to the link, the bag and header card they are packaged in is how they come. So 12 bags and header cards makes for a bit of trash and the scrubbies go into the 5g while you're unpackaging them out of the box.

I have some space in my sump I'm going to buy these and a retailer is a few minutes away. I use a part of my sump for some fry to grow out but I sold them all so worst case I can remove some of these scrubbers if I get a new batch of fry

Well I've had great luck with this particular brand then. But I am planning on trying out pot scrubbies when I upgrade my DIY filtration.

Also make sure not to too tightly pack them in. It'll slow down the flow and cause them to build up gunk faster.

I wouldn't use those scouring pads in place of bio balls or the plastic pot scrubbers. That's more like a foam polishing pad than wet dry media.
