  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I broke up sheets of that eggcrate light defuser stuff into small pieces. Was a pain in the butt to break all up, but its cheap, and has been working perfectly for 3 months now.

LOL!!!

*ahem*

question- arent bioballs also designed to help oxygenate the water also as an additon to bio filteration?

isnt oxygenation lost (reduced) when you use pot scrubbers?

I have no idea how a static piece of plastic is supposed to oxygenate the water. Bacteria forms on the surface of bio-material and USES oxygen. The main gas-exchange that oxygenates the water is the air/water mix in the gravity drain pipe (mostly used up in the bio-chamber) and the surface agitation of the pump return to the tank surface.

:iagree: ... also I see the pot scrubbers getting clogged way to quick....

but if you insist on using them.... I would say the dollar stores would be cheapest

Strange...mine don't clog. It must be due to that pre-filter pad in the wet/dry.

I'm starting to think that you are no mere mortal Oddball, but a super-alien-computer-lifeform that walks in a skin of human flesh and just happens to enjoy the species we call fish!

Or you just have an insane wealth of knowledge, I like the alien computer thingy better though.

i thought bioballs in a wet-dry promote the gas exchange proccess
