Pot Scrubbers vs. Bio-Balls

My wet/dry filter on Tha Bait Shack is filled entirely with Bio-Balls. It houses 2.3 gallons of 1.5" Bio-Balls which cost me $34. I am not sure of the going rate for them, so I will use this for my calculations.

For my new wet/dry project, I purchased 29 packages of scrubbies. That works out to 174 scrubbies and a volume of just under 13 gallons. My tub can hold 26 gallons so I will be making another trip for more. I bought them for 75 cents per six pack for a total of 24 dollars (I got 'em from Big Lots).

Now the calculations are as follows:
Bio-Balls
$34/2.3gallons = 14.78 dollars per gallon

Scrubbies
$24/13gallons = 1.85 dollars per gallon

So that leaves me with this question:
Does anyone want to buy some Bio-Balls?
 
Oh, if anyone has a different price for Bio-Balls please post it.

And if you have purchased scrubbies in the past, please post what you paid per six pack (or each) and where you bought them.

And we thought that was alot of surface area.

Hard to imagine (remember) now huh?! Hair curlers, plastic straws, PVC pipe shavings (there was alot of work), plastic strapping from shipping containers.

And all the time the lowly scubbie was just waiting there to be found.

I get my scrubbies at the $1.00 store 6 for a dollar.

Neatly stacked 174 fit into just over 9 gallons. Tossed into my bin in a random fashion 174 took up a little under 13 gallons. That works out to .074 gallons per pot scrubber (and the empty space around it) and 13.4 pot scrubbers per gallon.
 
6 for $1.00 at dollar store. Cheapest I've found.
 
glasscages i think is 34 for 5 gal bucket of bio balls
