Is there a way to estimate how many scrubbies are needed? I want to build a filter for a 300 gallon tank with 10x an hour turn over. I basically need to know something along the lines of how many scrubbies fill a cubic foot for example.

the MATH;
measure the area you want to fill with SCRUBBIES in inches.
L" x W" x H" = cubic inches
Cubic Inches divided by 9 = SCRUBBIES needed
example;
12" x 12" x 12" = 1728 cubic inches
1728 cu. in. divided by 9 = 192 SCRUBBIES
so,
for a 1 cu. ft. bio-chamber,
you would need 192 SCRUBBIES to fill it...
And I have 3000 for sale. How many do you need?
