pot scrubbies in an AC110

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have two ac 110s. In my opinion, I would just buy the real thing because I would be really unsure about the quality of the pot scrubbers. But many would tell you differently.

Adding a biowheel would work, kind of a PITA though and I don't think it's worth the effort.

The scrubbies will probably work fine. People tend to have waaaaaaaay more media than the need.

Yeah. Reading on other threads here, it doesn't matter if you have miles of surface area, you're only going to get enough BB to take care of what your fish produce to feed them.

filling an ac110 with scrubbies works fine.. ive been doing it for a few years and never had an issue.. just unroll/open a few to insure that there is no bypass area...

ceramic rings are great and have AMAZING surface area.. untill all the lil holes fill up and glaze over with bb and then they are really expencive rocks that are sitting ontop of your mechanical filtration...
