I assume its due to the fact that these rays go nonstop.I can watch mine on video cameras and they are always moving.day or night..that takes alot of energy!

Are those waterproof, or weather proof? Just wondering how they will hold up around moisture.

I don't recall..my enclosed room is hot and humid..at 50 bucks a piece I wasn't too worried about it..if I get a year out of them i'll be very happy
