Potamotrygon falkneri???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah I figured most would have jumped on them...

Very nice rays nonetheless

Yes they are nice but if they are P. castexi I'm not sure if I'm willing to pay what is being asked for them.

this is an old thread but these rays look very similar to the falkneri or supposed falkneri that are getting passed on as falkneri right now?

www.freshwaterstingray.nl has some pictures in the gallery of real nice falkneri. they have amazing patterns not so much like castextis or nice jags?
and those real nice falkneri would probably cost alot more too!

not to mention they get 75 pounds that would be 4-5 foot ray ,and apparently they are hardy rays according to dr ross book.some people think they are like tigers or flowers but im thinking they are more like jags

and ive herd but dont know for sure that depending on where the falks come from theirs areas where they are nicer just as leos from sao felix are

Oliver has some Falkneris on his most recent list @ 900 as Coming Soon..... don't know if its the real deal or not.

Pics look promising. And there has allready been some that came and went.

I raised a "white seem" high spot Jag. They look identical to Falks when young but by the time the rays are a foot they're easy to tell apart.

I even saw a pic of my Jag on some foreign site where it looked like it was described as a Falk.

It will be intresting to see what max size of quality Jags ends up being, cause if they're breeding smaller then blacks why wouldn't they possibly reach a smaller max size?

I have heard the stignata(SP) name tossed around in the same group as Falks and these white seems.

the one at the begining of this thread looks nicer and everybody said it was not a falkneri just a nice jaguar? just wondering if anybody knows.

i was offered a few falkneri from europe actually had a choice of 7,2 adults +2 of their pups and another guy had 3 pups $300-$400 each.all of them just looked like this and i did not choose to buy them because of reading this thread? does anybody know because this doesnt look like the nice falkneri rays i have seen on google or on fresh water stingray.nl like this one????

Frank doesn't keep "average" rays. Everything I've ever seen of his in pics is top quality.

Just look at the guy's Marbles.

Jags don't keep thier juvie patterns. Thier juvy patterns look just like Falks.

Maybe I'm wrong here, but by owning a Jag that looked like a Falk, I've done a bit of reading on the subject.

Maybe Alex can post pics of his Jags.... IF they still look Falk then everything I think is out the window, but from what I've seeen if it looks like a Falk and it's an adult it must be a Falk cause only a juvy Jag will look that good.

I personally think Falks are one of the nicest looking rays out there...... The "dirty brown Itaitatuba" for a fraction of a galaxy.
