Are these rays delicate or no different to Leos, marbles etc.

My Local store has just had some in and Im thinking about getting a female

I just got a pup as you can see by my recent thread and I have to say they're much more difficult than a Leo, Hystrix or a Motoro which are somewhat bulletproof in the ray world. My Flower is not as receptive and three days into it will not eat but has become more active and color is improving.

I hope mine comes around soon as I think they're amazing rays.

Everybody has there opinions on flower rays. I found mine to be the most aggressive fastest growing ray I have owned. It would pounce on food and cover whole piles of whatever I was feeding and defend it from other rays. But then again I have never found retics hard. I do believe that a lot of flowers arrive in a poor condition like retics do with a severely shortened tail due to poor handling. A flower ray with a full tail is a sight to behold. The ray that rare aquatics posted a picture of looks very healthy for a fresh import. And at 175 pounds a good buy. Males grow smaller than females but are still a large growing ray. As you can see the one in my profile (that sadly died from preventable causes) it grew from 10" to 20" in just 18 months. Ate everything even during two house moves with resulting different water conditions. If you have a suitable tank then go for it, mine was my favourite ray I have owned.

Don't know how you can say that ?
Yours only lasted 18 months . Preventable or not nobody has kept these long enough. Theirs many people on here add them all up and theirs countless numbers of tiger and flowers and nobody has been able to keep them longer than two years? They are same diffuculty as antenna rays . Very hard to keep long term .

I believe they have more than one so you will have a choice of flowers. They also have a male female pair of Leo's

They only have 1 pair which were both feeding on worms 1 day after arrival. The female Leo has been sold.
