The aquascape is the key.
^This this is not true in all setups but def in your case as long as the tank is set up right you shouldn't have a death

check out this Vid Mel posted a while ago you can see hes Festae's sharing a tank. Obv his tank is bigger but you get the point

No experience with festae b ut I just have to say I wish I had your problem... Lol good luck

Id just give it ago and keep close watch, thats exactly what im doing now if it works great, if not at least you give it ago!

i would think you would be ok, start the terror somewhat smaller then the rest of your fish, dont throw an adult in there with everyone, the only guy i would be worried about would your convict just make sure the size difference isnt too far

for a 300 i would have the jag and the terror in there, ive always keep jags the only time ive ever had problems were with my dovii and and my male jag, jags are very defensive usually taking up an individual hide and protecting it, but with a 300 there is more then enough room, i would say go for it, just start your terror or jag or both smaller then the rest and grow them out with everyone

With the current stock you have, you could easily add a small group of festae to the 300 with them. i would say buy them smaller than the rest of your stock and add festae to 300 first and give them a week by themselves then add the rest. i would also go with a biotope setting for them and with a tank that large it could go either way with hiding spots or just some deco. it really wont matter. once their all adults theyll stake out their territories but by constantly mixing it up or goin with less hiding spots should keep the aggression to a min. thats if you havent already found harmony in the comunity then i would leave things the way they are. and worse case scenario you will end up with a spare tank for emergency. good luck and post pics when you get the tank:) And definitely get festae!! you wont regret it

Wow...guess maybe im overthinking the aggression issue a bit! I figured Id get a least a few folks saying it was a bad idea, but not the case....

Thats the other thing i forgot to add. The tank will be scaped with tons of wood....probably some 12-15 pieces some of which are around 36-40" long, so there will be lots of territories. In addition to the wood eater(L204) my daughter really wants to try a L114 that will need a large territory as well so the scape will be very dense with lots of sight breaks, and it is an 8 foot tank.

Thanks for the replies guys! I was a bit concerned about the firemouth as well and planned on moving it back into the 90 if need be. Funny thing is that fish contantly gill flares the con and the Gt even though they are considerably larger, but it seems all bark with very little bite. I actually had it in the 60 for a while when it was about 2".

i guess im more concerned about what might happen when the red terror gets 8-10" and above. i read they can become real asses then. Any experiences with growth rate? My JD and GT are growing very quickly so i assume the RT would be similar

Try it out. By the time he is 8-10 inches, you will already have a good idea of his temperament. If he is going to be an ass, you will probably have some clues beforehand.

the con runs the tank currently. Mt daughter picked him out at the same time we got our gt. Hes definately a male with very log fins extensions and a lot of red and blue coloration. Im not a big fan of cons, but hes a stunning fish to look at and so far hes not super aggressive. I dont think he really takes the firemouth seriously, but he constantly follows around our GT which appears to be a female. no fighting or liplocking but they are inseperable.
