Potential new 150 stocking ideas?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hey Will, here's something to consider.... I have a 135 which is same footprint as a 150 (6 ft x 18"w) but just a couple inches shorter in height. My stock is 2 red severum, 6 angels, 4 Bolivian Rams, Rummynose, cardinal tetras, Dennison barbs and an assortment of cats (Raphael, S.A. bumblebees, bn plecos). It's a great tank and I love watching it because there is always something going on. There's a good harmony in the tank. Your dad could do something similar and I think as a beginner would get a lot of enjoyment from something similar. Just a thought.
Here's a couple pics from my tank.

Let him look at rapps and COA Site. See if any pics jump out at him. Then let him read up on the fish

Why do we have like the exact same tanks? =P My Living room tank is a 125 (6'x18") with 2 severums, a dozen geophagus sp rehead tapajo juvies (not keeping them all), 14 lemon tetras, 6 denison barbs, and a bristlenose...

I love it, but he's an unmarried man (wifes' mom passed a few years ago) in his house all allow now that all his kids moved out... He needs a fish friend more than a community. Still, it's his first experience and I want it to be good. Didn't mention earlier but I'll be going there and doing maintenance on it.

Get him a wet pet, amph, oscar, pearsei, jag

Haha, because those kinds of community tanks are great!

But I hear ya on the single guy thing. Wet pet would probably suit him better. I second jaws7777s suggestions.
