So, someday when I have more money, I plan to build a decent shed, insulate it, and set it up for our american alligator "Prada" who is currently about 3.5' long. In the mean time however she has a 10' steel stock tank with a sort of "tank topper" that has a ramp & platform for her to climb up out on. This structure was built in a bit of a hurry due to an unexpected call from a frantic landlord screaming "There's an alligator in the bathtub!" anyway, below are the sketchup concept designs of the enclosure. The first one is her current pen, which was built in a bit of a hurry & has wire sides instead of plexi which is what I hope to do with the newer one. I am curious as to your thoughts & ideas on this design. She's pretty smart, so I don't think she'll have any trouble navigating the new ramp/platform design (plus it'd give her a little more of a challenge, thus making her life more interesting I'm sure. I do also want to cut a "feeding slot" into the side of the plexi so I can put a little door on it that's big enough to slip her food through, but not big enough for her to stick her head out, thus decreasing the risk of being bitten during feeding times. What do you guys think?
