Power Back ups

in Hong Kong ... ( if u dunno where that is, its just a city in china) .... everythin is cheap over there... except flight ticket to over there... its ... its ... its another thing xD
 
We used to use truck tire inner tubes connected to homemade manifolds to aerate banks of tanks. A single tube could aerate for a couple of hours before being switched out for another inner tube.
Now, we have a 15KWatt Generac auto back up generator to run the whole hatchery and house. It'll run for nearly 2 weeks off of the size LP gas tank we have at the back of our yard.
 
battery bubblers are good.. but for the money.. yer better off going with a car inverter or a generator (dont forget the fridge)
 
The way to go is with the generator and automatic transfer switch. When regular power is lost the generator automaticly kicks in. You can get generators large enough to run your entire house. The pitfall however is the cost.
