Power feeding my Ocellaris, good or bad?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Wont be getting rid of the cat, going to be going in its own tank with other big fish, the smaller fish will be in there own tank also.
I know plans change in this hobby but for now i can house him and will be able for a good while yet. I am thinking about breeding rays in the future so maybe then the cat will be going so i can use his tank for breeding and the smaller tank for the pups, if they breed.

I have been looking for a tank for the Ocellaris and silver dollars, some thing just for a few mon ths untill the 500g is built, then either the cat can go in there if i still have him, or the Cichla can with the aro and rays etc. Lets see what happens.

I am in the beginnings of building a 500g, then next year a 1300g-1500g tank for the cat and rays, if need be the P Bass can stay in the 500g.
What size were your cat P bass when they was eaten?
I thought in the correct conditions/tank size Ocellaris can get to over 2 foot easyly.

I will see about getting them on some decent pellets asap then:)

Yeah wayne this is true but if you have a look on aquarist classified there is someone shutting down a monster catfish pond, some of there catfish are 4 feet if you watch the video of them you can see how chunky and long they are and the sheer greed of catfish means even if the bass was 2 feet they would still be swollowed.

Shame how everyone in england says the bass are 4" and turn out to be 4cm your right on that one. . . i know from experience

Hi kida, you mite be glad to know that i am getting rid of the cat, its not wereth the risk to keep ANY other fish with one no matter what darn size, just lost my 9 inch silver aro to the cat, he is 11inch, or was LOL. they grow quick on arowana LOL.

I have been feeding my Ocellaris a lot, dam they are picky, if the live food dont move they wont bother with it, had them on blood worm, daphnia, glass worm. they are growing slowly, i fatten them twice a day, colours are showing more, in the morning they have real vivd colours, cant wait till they grow a bit more.
