what is the difference between power feeding and over feeding. i just got 4 3 inch peacock bass in today and i want them to grow fast.

Power feeding is lots of small feedings, minimum twice a day usually 3 times a day. Overfeeding is putting too much food in the tank at once. Either too much for your fish to eat resulting in a polluted tank. Or your fish eats too much and bloats or looks swollen. Overfeeding is apparent as your tank parameters will not be optimal and your fish will not look its best. Long term overfeeding is not healthy for your fish and may in the case of certain species result in death from bloat.

summed it up pretty well. In short only feed as much as they'll eat and try feeding 2-3 times a day. if you are powerfeeding, make sure you keep up on your waterchanges. there will be tons of waste excreted by your fish.

I'm not a believer in powerfeeding. To me, it just sounds like an excuse to overfeed. I think the best receipe for growth is patience. Patience, time and quality food...the growth will come.

Isnt powerfeeding also used to describe when a fish is fed large portions over a short period of time so that it gains weight, like if it is skinny, sick, or about to produce offspring?
