Hi guys,

i've just started my 45g fowlr and was just wondering if the powerhead i got is a bit more powerfull than i need it to be. i curently have a Koralia Evo 4000, and a small circulating pump that i had around of 600 l/h. plus the flow from the Eheim 2224 (i think is about 600l/h, more or less ). the tank is 100 cm long/ 50 height/ 40 depth. i have the small circulating pump on the left bottom corner in the back of the tank pointed at the live rock, the Koralia on the right hand side in the upper back corner poitend towards the front of the tank. i wanna get 2 fuzzy dwarf lionfish in the tank and keep it as simple as i can. also have a 18 watt UV on it. any advice is more than apreciated.

Regards, Lucian.

As long as it isn't causing sand storms it really can't be too strong.

the sand was ok, but i got my first fish, a fuzzy dwarf lionfish and he just stood hidden behind a rock until i turned the powerhead off. so i decided to get a smaller one. curently runing a Koralia Evo 2800 and the Eheim filter. he seems to be ok now he explores the tank, and he started eating so i'm happy as a f*** :D

I'm glad it helped. It may have been the flow or he may have just settled in. Either way it's a good thing!

thanks for the quick reply. i was planing on gettin my 100g into a salt tank and thats why i got the big powerhead. all ok now, the little guy comes out to have a look around, he eats ok, fingers crossed. my next inhabitant will be a fu man chu and a frog fish. my LFS has a few nice ones. absolutely in love with this guys.
