I have all my fish listed on my profile.. but quickly i have 9 inch plec, 5 inch bristle nose plec, 3 inch royal plec, 2 x 5 inch synos, 2 x 4 inch bala sharks, 4 corys, 9 tetras, 1 x shark catfish... i always vac my tank every night after i have fed them as i cant stand having any mess at the bottom on my sand.

What do you think of this fellas?

i really appreciate the conversation here guys!!!

a separate venturi tube run from my sump into a 150 gal

I run a 1200gph pump on the 150, in theory that's 6 turnovers per hour.
But more important are water changes.

That metal clamp won't rust?

Water changes are great, I just find fish to do better in tanks with a decent amount of filtration turnover. Mine is excessive on my 225.

1000L = about 260 gallons... FX5 does 600 GPH. That's 2x turnover per hour... On my 225 I run 12-13x turnover per hour. I would add at least one more FX5.

I dont know if you are judging by what the FX5 box recommends but if you are, dont. It says for up to a 400G tank and that its 925ishGPH. If you read the find print, it says without media. So just like aclockworkorange said, with media it is about 600GPH. You want to shoot for 10x (or more) turnover per hour, but at least 6-8x. So you definitely want to add at least another FX5 to your filtration. I run a FX5 and a AquaClear 110 on my 120G tank.

EDIT: Good luck and don't forget to add pictures :)

Those clamps do rust, I usually change them when I notice the rust beginning. If I don't notice, the rust makes them easy to remove, because very breakable.

I would just use plastic clamps. Rust is probably not the worst thing you could have in your tank but I would prefer to keep it out of mine.
