I had battery powered air an all of them but was still more than a little concearned, Came home after work and everyone is still fine, heavy water changes and seems to be no ill affects, thank the gods. just wanted to share with ya all.

NOT thanks to the gods, thanks to your foresight to have battery powered air pumps in all tanks. A lesson for all of us. Thanks.

I wonder why power outages are so bad there, when I ever lose power which is next to never it is only for a mater of minutes...

but I am glad to hear you were prepared and everyone made it...

how do you do a water change with no power?

when we lose power we have no running water

are you on a well? or something? because if you are hooked up to city water then you should still have water if you lose power....

Sounds like the wc's were done after the power came back on.

Here in the city, we have water even without power. But outages only last a few minutes.

When I lived in Michigan, no water = no power. And power was out a LOT. Sometimes for many, many days. Tap water came from a well (like everyone else there), and even with whole house filtration and water softner it was orange and smelled rusty. That's the only time in my life I didn't keep any fish. But, we lived very close to a cool trout farm we could visit.
