Power outage

I lost a Black Aro in the big power outage in the midwest a few years back. They sure do suck. Good news is all is normal in the tank today

What do you guys do for power during hurricanes etc? Or do you just not care and get the hell out of the area??

Alot of filters have induction type motors, and unless your UPS dosn't put out a true sine wave, they wont work. My rena XP3, didn't work on a UPS, but my Emporer 400 did.

That's exactly what I have. In fact - 2 of them, and the 350 ran both of them for 3 hours (which isn't surprising because those motors don't draw much power).

3 hours for a 350 isn't bad at all, I would of expected a little less.

The XP3 made a chattering noise and would stop dead, I blew almost 200 dollars on two 650VA UPS's only to have it not work on two canisters, I had my wife go in with her puppy dog eyes and ask for a refund.

Generator here I come! (Minus a kidney, lung, and anything else I can sell.)

I live in the pacific NW, and am LUCKY to never really have power outages...thank God!
