thanks man, i just called the pse hotline they said i wont have power til as late as fri or sat but im crossing my fingers for wed. .

Just got power back. Discovered that two Black Mollies and a Giant Danio had somehow survived. I feel bad about all my other fish though =( 7 days without power and 20-40 degree weather are not good for fish =/

I just got in a penn plax b11 battery powered silent air today in the mail...it was only like 12 dollars and it only goes on if the power goes out...i used a splitter so it could run to both of my tanks...i really like it and it is a lot less expensive than the azoo one that runs all the time even though that one is a lot cooler..btw if the power does go out and you do not have a generator is there a trick to keeping the tank heated? any battery powered heaters ? btw hello to everyone

For heat at work we taped hot hands to the aquariums to keep the temp from dropping too fast. For oxygen hydrogen peroxide and manual agitation to keep the oxygen up while we waited for a generator to arrive. I don't know how well the hot hands worked as about 2 hours after we got it all set up the generator arrived.

Side not with regards to the generator, somehwere between the power going out and the generator several of our sump pumps went out, not sure if it was from a surge or because the generator put out weird current.

At home I used those reflective plastic survival blankets around the aquarium, to no avail though as by the time the power was back on 7 days later my aquarium was down to 46 degrees.
