Powerfeeding??....

why is that?
my dad's(he takes care of it more than me) silver about 16"-17" 1 year old, bought when had egg sack still, once got about 3" feed it food sitcks every since

could of be bigger but my dad keeps um in a 55 and he's happy wit ums

Could become a great monster if being kept in a nice large tank. He looks great, no DEs or defects, why not reward him a nice home for him to swim? :)) just go net him out while your dad is not looking and house him in a nice tank :D

I would have to agree with these guys. Powerfeeding your silver wont help it grow faster. But what powerfeeding can do is give your fish a more desirable shape once it gets to a bigger age.

Not so much in silver arowanas, but alot of people powerfeed their Asian Arowanas for the shape. Spoonheads are often a result of powerfeeding an arowana so that there is a slope as you trail the top of its head. Also, powerfeeding, if done properly, can result in your arowana having a very thick, proportional body.

Here is a comparison of two adult RTG asian arowanas. The 2nd picture is a result of proper powerfeeding. Notice the broadness of the body and spoonhead in the 2nd picture.
