Dude, its been less than 10 minutes since you originally posted it. Chill out. What output does it have and what size tank is it going into? I have one in one of my tanks for extra water movement. There isn't a downside to having one but it isn't required.

It depends. How much flow do you currently have in terms of existing filters? Powerhead is useful when you see a lot of debris/fish waste lying around on the tank bottom. It can also be used as surface agitator by placing close to the water level -- if for some reason gas exchange isn't happening in your tank.

I enthusiastically bought a powerhead a while ago, only to realize that it was a bit too much for the fish (in terms of flow).

You're going to blow the fish out of the tank! Jags are a semi-riverine at most. They don't mind some current but prefer still pockets of water to hang out in to let food swim or float by as the come out to attack. With 15X the gallonage of you tank as a flow rate, he'll be constantly swimming just to stay in one spot. I think that much current would be very stressful.
