Powerhead for Loaches

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I am a bit worried with the Congo Tetras and current. Just the only other tanks they could go in, one is a 40 breeder and the other they would get eaten pretty quick.

With the Koralia 4's or the 1050 do you have to have a seperate controller for them or are they jsut plug and play.

I've only heard terrible things about Rena XP4's. Motor breaks from right out of the box. XP3's are decent though.

Weird, that's why I no longer use fluvals haha

I have a Rena XP3 running on my 75 gallon.. not sure how impressed I am with it compared to my fluval 305, 405 or FX5 lol

The Rena seems to get clogged up the miute water runs through it... but I'm also using the pads that come with the Filter where the fluvals I'll use scrubbies and bio sphere thingies

i have a maxijet 1200 with the sure flow upgrade kit, i have 23 CL's and they love swimming in the current.
+1

I have 2 next to eachother. but if you have the cash go for the koralia 4

maxijet 1200- 300GPH
koralia 4- 1200GPH

its what you want though

What would the difference be (besides GPH) from Koralia 4 vs the Koralia 1050.

Would it make sence to have one on each side of the tank, one pointed across the front, and the other pointed across the back to sorta have a circle loop with the current?

well your filter has an output that acts like a power head. I would just get 1, that should be enough. And yes circulate the water, eaiser to keep the tank clean when theres lots of water movement
