The BGK just had his attention. He could put his hands in the tank and this fish would always swim up and let him touch him. The top of the tank is 5'-10" from the floor so I think it was more getting on dads shoulders and having that time with me and a cool fish.

Thanks girlie. No, I won't replace him. I'm usually never satisfied with any replacement ya know? Told my son today and he was pretty upset so I promised him he could help me pick out something new and different. I hope he likes big Acarichthys Heckelii
Right on man. Aquariums are a good time for kids. When my little sister comes over she runs up to the aquariums first thing and is full of questions. Do you have any idea what was bothering him the night before? We lost our big BGK around the same size to yet another run away stealth heater. The temp was 92 when we found him. They are great fish. I'm really sorry you lost your guy.
