So Cal
Im looking to efficiently move water around in my tank to make it easier for my AC110 & 70 HOB filters to pick up waste easier.

Any MFK members have any experience w/ the AC110 powerhead? It is rated at 900gph but is also $115...Ive had great experience and reliability w/ aquaclear but this seems too expensive.

Ive also head good things about the Hydor Koralia evo 1050, for $42, but then there are also mixed reviews saying they stop working after a year/are loud, etc.

Then there is also the Marineland Maxi-Jet pro 1200 for $23, which seems like a no brainer for the amount of flow, then again reviews saying they are loud and stop working eventually.

If you guys think these are a waste, then Ill save up eventually to get a canister. But to get one that has an equal amount of water flow as these would be an fx5...

Koralia is best option for the price and the quality.

Bigalsonline has a sale going on and you can get free shipping and if it's still valid plant10 coupon code.

Hydor Koralia Evolution models. They're quiet, reliable, and not that expensive.

I don't have any experience with those models, but I have 2 ac30 powerheads I've been using without issue for at least 15 years.

Wow! See that is the reliability I am looking for.
Ive never heard of a bad review about aquaclear, and the other brands are just mixed.
Maybe Ill have to try the ac110 for myself if no one else has...

I love AC HOB Filters and there POWERHEADS. I've used many AC70 Powerheads, I also have used the smaller ones like the model 20. There great, I cant say anything more. I've never had one die.

Last I recall the AC110 Powerhead model was discontinued, and there largest model is now the 70, but I could be wrong on that.

I would be weary about buying a new AC110 powerhead incase you needed spare parts down the road, the model 70 really is quite strong anyway.

I use ac powerheads on most of my sponge filters......they work well, and seem dependable . I haven't had any issues at all. and the ac70 moves a lot of water(400 gph according to the manufaturer)

Koralia all the way I have 2 koralia 4's on 75 gallon an ac110 filter over 4 years trying to find a quieter impeller. I heard that eheim impellers may be a way to go. Also have a aquaclear 30 powerhead in another tank.

I have a ac70,30 and 2 koralia if you just want to move water go with the koralia there great if you think that you might want to use it for more than that the ac70 you can reverse flow and adjust power or put sponge filter on it. I guess it should come down it multiple use or single just my 2 cents :)
