Powerheads- ac110, koralia, maxi-jet?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
if you're going with a powerhead. why not get another filter? more flow and you get the benefit of filtration. not sure how big your tank is. but id get a ac70 or ac110. i currently have a ac70 on one of my 60 gallon and its pretty good

I dont have any more space, cause I already have an ac110 and 70 HOB filter on my 60 ;)
The ac powerhead is doing exactly what I wanted!

put a little (hydor 3 size) sponge filter on there for awsome water polishing ,also aqua clear has an attachment filter for about 12 dollars that I here works well as a water polisher

I've use Hydor Koralia , there are great the weakest part of is the stem to rotate the head , I had replace 2 so far but they send them free from the makers of Hydor Koralia. I'm also thinking of up grading my powerhead with this Sicce Voyager 3 Pump

http://www.kensfish.com/moreinfo/sicce-voyager-3-pump.html

I like the permits it to reach the widest triangulations: up to 180 degrees vertically and 360 degrees circulatory . You can put them on the back of the tank walls and turn them 180 degrees ether side.

I can say from experience marineland is garbage, it zapped my fish...... Had very good flow and current but just a poor design. I prefer circulators over powerheads, just cuz they push way more water.

Aquaclear powerhead filter

that's what I run on mine only I use sponges inside instead of the polishing filter that comes with it. the polishing pads do work very well, I've used them to clear up gravel dust from the water. if they weren't good, I doubt my powerheads would have lasted as well as they have.
