thanks guys.. my big dat eats 5-6 shrimps per meal.. I think he is very happy with this food.. I do not have too much choices on frozen fresh water prawn.. the ones here comes with head.. not a good buy.

I stick with farm raised salt water shrimp for now.

I still cant figure out what is the proper feeding for a 10" ST... any suggestion?

i really don't know if it does take of the vitamin out of it if it was frozen. but one thing that i know, all the market shrimps are frozen then defrosted for people to buy. the only live one is the shrimps in the tank. i know this for a fact since i worked with large food distributors before. :) i really hope the vitamin is not lost. i just freeze them for 4 days max... maybe if it was more than a month? freezer burn? but again.. i'm not sure.;)
I have commercial prawn fished and we sold to the public live or whole fresh and headed fresh not frozen. If they are individualy flash frozen, they are better, but I'm still researching the matter...

Shrimp and squid can make up about 80% of the fishes diet. The remaining 20% can consist of earthworms, silversides, bloodworms, bullfrogs, etc.

unfortunatly freezing doesn't kill alot of bacteria and bad stuff. I simply suspends its activities. It is still there and when you thaw it it is active again. Some bacteria actually thrive in the cold. That is why you are not supposed to thaw meat and refreeze it. Cooking to a certain degree is the only way to kill.

Actually brineing in salt or acid will also kill the bacteria but is not recommended for fish food ;)

I can't help it i am a chef sorry:irked:
