PRAZIQUANTEL DOSAGE what do you use for rays

what dosage do you use for rays? I'm a bit confused on the net info. I'm having issue with my trio starting to avoid food. Food is diverse - basa, pork heart, massivore, carnivore, thera pellets (they normally pig out). Water parameters are good and all other fish on the tank are acting normal. I have been doing 30-40% water change twice a week. heating is set at 27 degrees.

What's your thoughts?
 
If you use a pure prazi such as Aqua Prazi or AquaScience it's 1 teaspoon per 100g. Run 7 days then a second treatment for another 7 days with a break in between.

Any stock still eating will possibly go off food until treatment is done and flushed out of tank.
 
i'm getting the 50mg tabs from a vet. i called already and they use it for cats and dogs and i'll pick it up after work. my tank is about 500gal (water contents). based on a 12.5mg to 1teaspoon, i'll need 1 and 1/4 tab each day treatment. I may just use one tab per day to be sure I don't overdose.

pls correct my math if im wrong.
 
Really it depends on the the purity of the prazi. If it has fillers and other types of items it will very. My container says 969.25 mg to treat slightly more than a 100 gallons. Or 12.5mg a liter.
But I don't have to treat every day. Just 1 treatment then 7 days later water change then redose but I want to feed in between so will water change and treat a few days later.
But if the vet advised the dosage you should probably listen to him.

The vet is for dogs and cats. we don't have a local vet specialising on fish here. There's one on another state though, but i have to bring the fish and some samples (poop and water) to get a diagnosis - too much hassle. Alternatively, I can fly him over and pay for his cost - i'm not rich to have a spare funds for that.

The drug is available to buy over the counter so I don't really need the vet to check the fish. I buy it though at my own risk.

I'll adapt your routine since you have actual experience on it but will just use a tablet for the first treatment and another after 7 days. I'll still continue my routine water change.
 
Mine states no water changes during treatment. If you do water changes I would replace what you pull out if not a full dose after every water change. I have heard that certain forms of prazi breaks down in he water decreasing in Half-Life and potency. Apparently the brand I have doesn't.
 
Just an update.

Female1 and male now back to eating but i have not seen female2 eat. Bones showing up and now have a dent on the forehead.

Anymore ideas on what i can do. Just worried on female2.
