people need to stop being so harsh on localy owned fish stores its hard enough with the economy, phones were invented for a reason, i personaly do not know this person but i do know people who have tried this feet and failed, so instead of bashing this guy who is trying to sell quality fish because he cant afford to have 10 people on staff at all times to meet your whim like the big corporate stores who sell what ever crap walks in the door, make a phone call any localy owned pet stores or any buissness for that matter you should do that ... people have app. and such just like you so cut the poor guy a break
bump for ted and all happy, a good store and a good guy. too bad some people aren't smart enough to call before they make a long drive. there are businesses listed in the yellow pages that aren't open anymore. after you check for an address, wouldn't the next step be calling them?

naughty.Plus there is more for the norm clients... im sure thats why he is still in business... how many times do you ever hear someone complain about him on these threads? Not much, every here and there... which tells me the reg clients he has now is the ones he is making good with... so W E love it!!

I know plenty of store owners in the area because I'm in the business, and one thing is for sure, everyone is hurting and would most certainly welcome new faces. And none of them aren't closed during listed business hours or have an answering maching that doesn't let the caller know who've they reached, so don't give me this "stuff" about calling before you go to a store bit, he just posted his livestock list the day before, along with his store hours and location.
And for those who say "you don't know Ted" and "he's a nice guy", well he very well be a nice guy, I was just trying to do business with him. If he's not always at the store, or sometimes closes early, or I need to give him the secret MFK handshake before I enter his store, then fine, he should post that and let people know we should call before hand. Obviously there's those who already know he's not always there, but that doesn't do anything for new customers. You can only sell so much to the same people, after that, it would be nice to build your clientele. Trust me when I say I'm for LFS just like I'm for local gun stores, I understand the importance of supporting area business' (mom & pop shops).
I think it was a mistake for him to write he was open 11-8 every day on his thread and not updating his hours on his thread. He should've wrote: "Call before coming to verify store hours." He's a great dealer though. If you've dealt with All-Happy at all, you know they have really weird hours. But I can understand why many customers would be mad. I'd be pissed too if I drove 40 mins to get there and they were closed.
