Pre-spiral of death? Help please!

i took it out, i just checked out the tank this mourning and I only saw one fish that looked like he might be sick. He is kinda floating around with the current of the tank. Im guessing something must have got into the tank water but i got it out before alot of them got harmed from it. I cant see any other reason. Im guessing I might lose one or two of them but it doesnt look to bad right now. Its just really frustrating to put soo much care into these fish and see some of them get sick. I feed them only the best, and do excessive water changes just to make sure they are in the best conditions possible, and somehow some of them get sick.

What kind of cichlids are they. What are the sizes. If they are still very small the issue may be that there is to much current flow in your tank.

they seem to all be getting better, none have died. Maybe I had a huge spike in nitrate? I am feeding them alot but i have been feeding them this much for awhile. Maybe I put an extra day in between one of the water changes without realizing it and got a nice spike from it? I should have tested the water right when i first noticed them acting funny, but I did a big water change right away and after that there was no point in testing.
