As BeBlondie says, smaller bichirs okay, avoid the larger ones as the ctenopoma could end up as a snack.

Well I went to the store and started thinking maybe a salvini or 2, a shovel nose cat, and a senegal birchir. Would this work? Any other suggestions?

i thought you wanted a preditor tank? why would you start with a prey fish? they may technically eat bugs and small fish but whay not a big knife fish or a pike or somthing that act like a preditor?

shovel nose cats get way to large for a 75 g.

Salvini wil bully bichirs and Ctenos. Shovelnose will get huge and eat everyone, then wear your tank as a hat. If you like Ctenopoma and Bichirs, think about and African Biotope with African Butterflies and an African knife with them. There are other types of Ctenopoma that might be harder to find, but are cool.

OK. What about a Leporinus fasciatus? What type of African knives are good? I am just looking to set up a good predator tank.

Pretty much set on:
Senegal Birchir
Leaf fish (or bush fish) if I can find them
African kife??

I am just clueless when it comes to this type of tank as I have had African Cichlids, CA/SA Cichlids, and piranha.
